The goal of the group is to create community and increase our awareness and oneness with the Earth. We support the Unity North mission statement by recognizing, demonstrating, and sharing the Divinity in each of us. We recognize that Divinity in the nature that surrounds us, including the beautiful earth resources right behind our church that are accessible at any time.

The group includes earth mediation, walking meditation, and discussion about our connection to the earth. We follow the principles outlined in Thich Nhat Hanh’s book Love Letters to Earth.

Full Moon Healing Circle

Remembering Our Oneness with Earth and Each Other

The Full Moon Healing Circle is a monthly gathering held under the tall trees at the back of the property, where we come together in sacred circle to slow down, listen inward, and remember our connection—to the Earth, to one another, and to the deeper wisdom that lives within us all.

Each full moon offers a natural moment of illumination and release. In this circle, we honor that rhythm through gentle ceremony, shared presence, silence, sound, and prayer. The work is not about fixing or forcing change, but about creating a safe and grounded container where healing can unfold naturally—through listening, witnessing, and being held in community.

What to Expect

Our ceremony officially begins at 7 pm and usually continues until about 8:30 pm. Drumming begins around 6:45 pm as part of the gentle opening of the circle.

Participants are encouraged to bring a chair, and—if they feel called—a drum or simple instrument. No prior experience is needed. Your presence is enough.

David and I typically arrive around 6:30 pm to begin preparing the land and the space. Those who feel drawn are warmly invited to arrive early and quietly join us—helping tend the fire, arrange the altar, smudge the area, or simply sit in silence as the space is prepared. This early time is part of the ceremony itself, allowing us to arrive fully and intentionally.

The Full Moon Healing Circle is almost always held on the day of the full moon. On rare occasions, if there is a conflict with the church calendar, the date may change. We encourage you to check the Unity North calendar or sign up for our email list to stay informed.

What Is a Healing Circle?

A healing circle is a shared sacred space where each person is welcomed exactly as they are. There is no pressure to speak, perform, or participate in any particular way. Much of the deepest work happens in stillness. In allowing silence, truth has room to surface. In being witnessed, we remember that we are not alone.

The circle is held with care, respect, and reverence—honoring personal boundaries, confidentiality, and the understanding that healing takes many forms.

Sacred Reciprocity

Love offerings are gratefully accepted to help cover the costs of wood for the fire and other ceremony materials, and to tithe to our generous church home—offered in the spirit of sacred reciprocity. Give as you feel called, in gratitude for the space that holds us.

About the Facilitators & Contributors

David Castaldini and Lester Herbertson serve as facilitators of the Full Moon Healing Circle. Together, they hold the space with humility, presence, and deep respect for Earth-centered wisdom and community practice.

David is a Certified Nature Therapy Practitioner, bringing a deep attunement to the healing intelligence of the natural world and our innate relationship with the land. Lester is a Shamanic Practitioner, trained through the International School of Shamanism, and works with ceremonial awareness, listening, remembrance, and guided meditation.

Their role is not to lead from above, but to tend the container—so that Spirit, the land, and the collective wisdom of the circle may guide the experience.

We’re also grateful for Lorelei Robbins of Thank Your Lucky Stars, a gifted astrologer, who will share insight into the celestial energies present this evening; for the songs and prayers of the Dances of Universal Peace; and for the steady drumming of the Scallywags, whose rhythms help open and hold the circle—and for all those who have contributed, in seen and unseen ways, to making this space so very special.

All Are Welcome

In the circle, we meet as equals—no hierarchy, no expectation—only shared presence, mutual respect, and the remembering that we walk this path together.
