UNA COVID-19 Updated Communication

Hello Unity Family!

Here we are at the start of week two of the pandemic. Many of us have decided to take the advice of the experts and self-quarantine and incorporate social distancing when we do have to go out. We are learning new terms and a new way of life. It’s been interesting, hasn’t it?

As most of you are aware, Unity North has decided to close the Sanctuary building until further notice. All staff are working from home and connecting with you via email, phone, social media, video conferences and our website. We are currently only streaming our services – Wednesday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 11:15 am with Rev. Richard.  Rev. Julie is hosting a Zoom Cafe at 1:30 on Sundays to talk about the service, Brandy is hosting a Zoom Get-Together on Thursdays at 3:00 and we are posting Spiritual Connections questions for all to answer on Facebook. Please check our website – we will continue to find ways for all of us to connect!

We know that some of you are suddenly out of work. We are holding you close knowing that God is in every breath we take and every thought we have. We see this situation as temporary and, when it is done, we will all be stronger. Please see the “I Need” section at the top of our Facebook group page. Our Community is here to support you.

During this time, we expect to see reduced participation in our services. Not everyone is comfortable with the technology (we can help – just call Brandy!) This also means that our “Sunday basket” will be affected.  If you watch the service online, and you can afford to do so, please consider donating while you are watching.  The link is right there, and it only takes a moment. You also have the option of Text to Give. Once you have it set up, its super easy to use. The best way, however, is to join our Conscious Consistent Giving Program.  Again, it’s easy to do and your donation will automatically come to us on the schedule you select. The benefit to us is that it allows us to plan and not be as concerned if our “Sunday basket” dips a little. If you are already a CCGP member, thank you! Several of our Board Members have agreed to increase their CCGP donation. We’d be excited if you could join them! Click here to access all our Giving options (including Unexpected Income and Major Gifts). We want to be here for you for years to come. Your support now will help to ensure that our bills will continue to be paid on time, the online services will continue and that the staff that is working diligently to help you stay connected will be here for years to come.

If you need something from the office, please call us. 678-819-9100, Mon-Thurs 10-4. Most importantly, however, is connecting with each other. We, the Staff and Board, are reaching out to our Members to check in and make sure that everyone is doing okay. Please do the same with your circle of friends at Unity North. Connection with each other is what is most needed now.

Thank you. Thank you for your love of this community, for the friends you have made here and for continuing your spiritual journey. We walk with you.
